I was contemplating whether I should do a post this week or not. I worked on a few projects this last weekend, but most of them I am not able to share yet. Also, I was struggling with my shoulder pain and was feeling a bit cranky to be honest. :) I am doing better now AND I was given a reason to post.
One of my new quilt blogging buddies, Janice from Color, Creating, and Quilting has nominated me for the "One Lovely Blog Award"! Thank you, Janice! I have been seeing this pop up here and there and thought it was an excellent way to show appreciation for fellow bloggers. Janice and I have been planning to explore mini quilt making together and we had decided we were both going to make the same mini. That is one of those projects I can't share yet because I want it to be quilted and finished before I share the photos. :)
The Rules:
*Thank the person who nominated you, and give a link to his/her blog.
*List the rules.
*Display the image of the award on your post.
*List seven facts about yourself.
*Nominate (up to) 15 bloggers for this award, and notify them to let them know you have nominated them.

Seven Facts about me:
1. After living in Montana 95% of my life, in 2015 I finally packed up and moved to the amazing city of Portland and I am loving it!
2. I change my hair frequently. Color, cut, and curls. In my passport photo I have super long blonde hair with bangs and in my driver's license photo I have a short dark brown pixie cut. Currently I have collar length brown (with a little grey) curls. :)
3. I went to high school in a tiny, country town. My graduating class was 28 people!
4. I love supernatural story telling. Books about werewolves, movies about ghosts, TV with vampires. Give me a coven of witches over true crime stories any day.
5. My first pattern design is in the testing process and I couldn't be more excited to get it out there.
6. My favorite movie is, and always will be The Lost Boys.
7. Even my sweet puppy is named after a vampire. Marius. :) Here he is:
So, not too much to share, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I have a "nearly" finished quilt coming up soon and lots of other little things in the wings.
Oooo! AND I finally started an Instagram account HERE, so make sure to follow me there too.
Happy Quilting Everyone!

I don't think I doubled up on anyone. :)
Now that I am thinking about it...I did have a small finish yesterday. Something that I have been working on for quite some time. A co-worker asked me to make a quilt out of Crown Royal bags for her. Because everyone who drinks it, saves the bags. :) The quilt is still in progress and I will share it eventually, but I did finish a coaster set out of the green bags. And I made a cute little box to go with it. I didn't follow a pattern for the box, I just kind of made it up and I think it turned out super cute. If I do it again, I would add some embellishments I think, cute flower buttons or something. I might do a tutorial on it if there is any interest. So, let me know what you think about that.

I too fight shoulder pain. I also went to a small high school. Thanks for nominating me. Followed you on instagram.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, what an honor! Thank you and I'll post to nominate others to keep this going after I get done with my daily Quilt MN Shop Hop posts. Thanks so very much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! Congratulations on being nominated! Loved the seven facts part... Have you read Deborah Harkness' A Discovery of Witches trilogy? It's fantastic! Witches and Vampires all in one, and superbly done. Love the Crown Royal box too. That's a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteNeat job on the box and coasters. Those corner pockets would be a good place for stir sticks!
ReplyDeleteOh my god! Jen! Thank you! I got the blushes now. Thank you for the nomination. AND what is more congratulations to your nomination in the first place.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award, so well deserved. I loved reading your "7 things" and learning more about you!
