Group project and I'm nervous

Learning new things is hard.
And scary.
And can be wasteful especially when you need materials even at the early practice stage.
Foundation Paper-Piecing isn't totally new to me, but I am far from an expert at it and as I have dreams of learning how to design one day, I figured the more practice the better.

Recently I was invited to be a part of a group charity quilt submission for Quilt Con.  I am very new to this.  And I feel a bit of nerves every step of the way.
1. I joined the MQG just to do this project.
2. After my quilting hiatus, I question the quality of my work.
3.  I accepted a deadline for the block when most of my sewing room was packed away in boxes.
4. The theme is text and we were doing a saying in different languages and I chose one I am just learning. - Thanks Sharpy for your translation!!

5. Paper-piecing can be finicky.  I have had to toss hours of work because of a single mis-cut before. *eek*

But....
I have a great group that I am working with and they are so encouraging and helpful.
Irene over at Patchwork & Pastry kindly designed the letters I needed to write my block in Gaeilge (Irish) and I got to work.

It is certainly taking me a lot of time.  I am not fast at this.  I take it one step at a time.
I am enjoying it though and I cannot wait to share the finished product.

  2. We are all so proud of you my friend. Take a few baby steps every day and before you know it, this marathon will be in your rear view mirror and your name will be in a quilt hanging at Quiltcon 2020. You Got This.

  4. I could not have closed on my first home without Mr, Pedro ! Pedro and his team went above and beyond for me on this transaction. He handled my very tight turn around time with ease and was always available for me when I had questions (and I had plenty), even when he was away from the office, which I greatly appreciated! He and his team handled many last-minute scrambles with the seller and worked tirelessly to make sure that I could close before my lease (and my down payment assistance, for that matter) expired. Mr Pedro is an incredibly knowledgeable Loan Officer, courteous, and patient. I went through a couple offers on properties before my final purchase and Pedro was there to help with each one, often coordinating with my agent behind the scenes. I felt supported throughout the entire process. Thanks to Pedro and the tireless efforts of his team, I am now a proud homeowner! I would encourage you to consider Pedro and his loan company for any kind of loan.
